Funmi Ajila-Ladipo emerges new FADAN President

7th of May,the Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria –  FADAN  voted for a new president .  Ekiti State-born designer Creative director of Regalia, Mrs Funmi Ajila-Ladipo, was elected president of the Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria (FADAN). She is to pilot the affairs of the association for the next three years. She spoke about the “Triple “R” Agenda” Re-Energize, Reconnect and Repositioning with the spirit of –  Yes we will! Yes we can!

Funmi Ajila Ladipo  has been in the fashion industry for more than two decades. She was adjudged the fashion designer of the year 1987/88. Ever since she joined the industry, she has represented Nigeria in a couple of fashion shows in and outside Nigeria. She is noted for her creativity. Funmi studied fashion and textile designing at the Yaba College of Technology, Lagos. She has always been arts inclined so she had to abandon law course and switched to fashion.

Funmi, having beat two other contestants, Frank Osodi of House of Bunor Creazioni and Wunmi Oluwadare, founding designer of Wunmi O in a keenly contested election to become the 5th president of FADAN since it was established in 1989 for the purpose of promoting fashion design in Nigeria.
