The Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria is the recognized body for the Fashion Designers Profession and was duly incorporated in 1989 by the then Federal Ministry of Trade and Corporate Affairs. The formidable association of fashion designers now has state chapters all over the country.
The main objective of FADAN, is to promote Nigeria’s culture through Fashion and Style.
These are to reflect the Cultural Apparels of Nigeria depicting the six geographical zones in the nation. We continue to achieve these aims and objective through our various programmes such as exhibitions, fashion shows, seminars and workshops within and outside the country.

Promoting Fashion Locally
To promote fashion design in Nigeria’s cultural, social and traditional life.
Spirit of Oneness
To promote a spirit of oneness and co-operation amongst all professional fashion designers in Nigeria by bringing them under one banner and to improve the quality of locally made clothing thereby boosting Nigeria’s and tradition at home and all the other parts of the world.
To promote and encourage social, cultural and charitable activities amongst its members
To promote awareness of and to educate the general public about the fashion designing profession in Nigeria and to this end to organize and supervise fashion shows, exhibitions, fairs, workshops, seminars etc. as the Association may deem fit.
To check and regulate the standard of the practice of the fashion designing profession in Nigeria and to assist in its improvement as well as provide guidelines and check the standard of fashion education in Nigeria
To seek and obtain the recognition to the Federal Government of Nigeria to enable it assists the Association in the furthering of its aforementioned and other objectives.
